Annual Pledge Drive

The Leonard R. Flynn Parent Teacher Association is asking you for a donation to support the education of our children. Your donation is needed more than ever this year to help the PTA provide resources that enrich our children’s education. Please consider making a generous contribution to the PTA annual pledge drive. We need to work together to fill the holes left by state budget cuts to ensure that our children have a quality education.


Why the PTA matters
The PTA works closely with the principal and staff of Leonard Flynn Elementary to provide resources for students, teachers, and parents that enrich our children’s education. This includes funding for:

  • Playworks! (organized and supervised recess activities)
  • Gardening program and staffing
  • Mission Science Workshop field trips
  • Arts programming
  • School beautification and teacher appreciation
  • Teacher grants

Your donation
Our pledge drive goal is to have all families at Flynn participate. In the past, families at Flynn contributed from $5 to $5,000. For single donations, our suggested pledge is $2 for each day of school for a total of $360. You can also choose to make a recurring monthly donation. For monthly donations, our suggested pledge is $40/month which is only ~$1.66/day each month. This is less than the price of a cup of coffee but will provide much needed resources for our children. This is a tax-deductible contribution (Tax ID # 56-2587473).

Please check with your employer to see if your company matches charitable donations.


The proposed budget
All Flynn parents are encouraged to attend regularly scheduled PTA meetings to help set the PTA budget. The annual pledge drive is one of our three major fundraising efforts and this year we hope to raise at least 25% of our budget this way. To reach our goal, we need the support of ALL Flynn families.
